Do you have old or unworn jewellery sitting in a drawer? Transform it into something fresh and unique!
Together, we'll explore your design concepts and determine the most suitable approach for your project. Options include utilising the wax-carving technique, where we sculpt a wax model before transforming it into metal through fusion. Alternatively, we may opt to shape your rings directly from metal, using either sheet or wire.
The piece created during the course is priced as a newly made jewellery item, based on the design and craftsmanship involved. The gold you bring is professionally evaluated according to the daily gold price, and its value is deducted from the final price. In practice, this means you receive a discount equal to the assessed value of your gold.
To ensure a precise and fair valuation, participants who wish to use their own gold are kindly asked to bring it in a few days before the course begins. This allows enough time to test the alloy, determine its purity, and confirm the value before the course takes place.
Duration: About 4 hours
At the start of the course, we’ll discuss your design and explore the different possibilities. If 4 hours aren't enough to complete your jewelry piece, we'll reassess the design and decide whether to extend the class with another session or adjust the design to fit within the available time. Please note that if an additional session is required, there may be an extra fee.

Here's a brief overview of the process:
Wax Carving and casting: We begin by carving a wax model of your jewelry piece, sculpting it to perfection with intricate details and unique textures.
Once the wax model is finished, it will be sent to a casting company that will transform your wax model into your favorite gold or platin alloy. An additional session could be arranged for a collaborative finish on your jewellery piece. Alternatively, Francesca can take care of the finishing touches for you, ensuring it's ready for convenient pickup.
Metal fabrication: we will create a sheet or wire suitable for your ring´s dimentions and consequently weld to make a stable seam. After that, we can work on the texture of the rings, either hammered, matt or polished.
